Priceless treasure finds the light of day again!
Out of storage and ready to cruise the roads of Alpena once again, is the 1928 Model “A” Ford, formerly owned by philanthropist (and museum name sake) Jesse Besser. The Besser Company of Alpena donated the car to the museum on October 6th at the museum Fall Harvest Day event. The “passing of the key” ceremony was held on the front lawn of the museum with many visitors present to share in the celebration.
The vehicle is in great running condition after a few months of refurbishing and fine-tuning. It’s a real jewel, from its two tone paint job right to the classic sound of the “aahooga” horn. It is ready to roam the streets again in classic style. Plans include rumbling along in future parades and at other museum events. Keep your eyes open for upcoming events that feature our classic jewel! Jesse Besser’s 1928 Model “A” Ford.
