Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan: Art - History - Science

Now Showing in the Sky Theater:
"Connecting the Dots"

“Connecting the Dots” is the current planetarium show at Besser Museum. It is a delightful educational show about some of the 88 constellations. A short orientation to the sky is followed by a journey along the ecliptic. Next, many other patterns including: a dragon, a dog, a bear, a swan, and even a princess with her present from Perseus become apparent as the dots (stars) are connected. You’ll enjoy stories from long ago, news from today’s astronomers, and even a chance to hold the pointer and find some star patterns.

Orion, the hunter, is one of the featured constellations. He is followed in the sky by his two dogs, Canis Major and Canis Minor. His belt, made of three bright stars in a straight line, helps make Orion an easy constellation to find.

Besser Museum’s planetarium can add another adventure as you enjoy Alpena’s winter wonderland and sky!

The Sky Theater planetarium is the only one of it's kind in Northern Michigan.
Come and experience this stellar show.
