Besser Museum
is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization.
The Besser Museum is a 501 (c)(3), non-profit, membership corporation stewarded by its own Board of Trustees.
The museum receives no continuing financial support from federal, state, or local government entities or millage.
Operational support is generated through admission fees, membership dues, awarded grants and donations.
Besser Museum is an accrediated museum by the American Alliance of Museums.
Our vision is a community that can explore the dynamic story of Northeast Michigan's interconnected natural resources and cultural heritage
through the ability to navigate the past, illuminate the present, and imagine the future.
ART
Besser Museum's fine art collection includes watercolor, oil, pastel, acrylic and collage paintings, prints, art pottery, and sculputure. The Museum's extensive collection of art that cannot be found any where else in Northeast Michigan, includes works of art from Michigan artists such as Tom Moran to world renowned artists like Cezanne, Renoir, Dali, Picasso, Warhol, Rivera, Chihuly, Clewell and more!

Besser Museum applauds and supports the talents of local artists and the organizations that promote art appreciation. Several of these groups call Besser Museum their home.
Art
The Besser Museum has three galleries dedicated to exhibiting works of art.
The Wilson Fine Art Gallery features works from the museum's permanent art collection.
The Trelfa Gallery and Center Gallery feature works from Northeast Michigan artists.
