Community Education Garden

Besser Museum for Northeast Michigan

Test your green thumb at the Besser Museum!  Lead by Ben & Chelsea Kline, these hands-on activities are catered to families, kids, adults, and grandparents, so everyone can learn about proper gardening techniques, bugs, weeds, and how to cook a whole meal with what you grow!  Each of the four activities will take place at the Besser Museum in our pioneer garden.  Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for kids/seniors.  Museum members are free.  For more information or questions, visit www.bessermuseum.org or call 989-356-2202.

Who are Ben & Chelsea Kline?

After ten years working as a professional cook, Ben Kline moved back to Alpena with his wife Chelsea to raise their children in northern Michigan. In 2013 they started Ben Kline Farms to combine Ben’s love for food and cooking with his family’s agricultural heritage.  They focus on growing for flavor and nutrient density and market their produce locally with CSA, cooking classes, and at Alpena farmers market.
