Besser Museum
is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization.
The Besser Museum is a 501 (c)(3), non-profit, membership corporation stewarded by its own Board of Trustees. The museum receives no continuing financial support from federal, state, or local government entities or millage. Operational support is generated through admission fees, membership dues, awarded grants and donations. Besser Museum is an accrediated museum by the American Alliance of Museums.

John and his wife Haley Gardner have moved to Alpena from Toledo, Ohio, where John was a student and employee for the University of Toledo. While attending the University, he studied and completed his bachelor's degree in Astrophysics, so he is a certified astrophysicist!
Before studying astrophysics, he spent 4 years in the United States Marine Corp and was stationed in Quantico, Virginia. John hopes to bring his skills and experiences to full use at Besser Museum, and looks forward to serving the community.
