Christine Witulski

Executive Director

Christine graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Spring Arbor University.  Christine has been employed at the Besser Museum since 2009 starting out as the Education Director. As the Education Director, she developed museum programs that aligned with the Michigan State benchmarks.  Christine worked with local businesses and agencies to develop the Lafarge Fossil Park.  Christine took over as Executive Director in October 2012. 

 

Since then, Christine has been working with local, regional, and statewide partners to develop the Michigan Great Lakes Fisheries Heritage Consortium and Statewide Trail, the Besser Museum’s Fisheries Heritage Exhibit, the Besser Museum Fine Arts Exhibits, and the Native American Exhibit.

The Besser Museum is a 501 (c)(3), non-profit, membership corporation stewarded by its own Board of Trustees. The museum receives no continuing financial support from federal, state, or local government entities or millage. Operational support is generated through admission fees, membership dues, awarded grants and donations.                  Besser Museum is an accrediated museum by the American Alliance of Museums.

Our mission is to collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit authentic articles and artifacts of art, history, and science to inspire curiosity, foster community pride, and cultivate personal legacy.
The Besser Museum is dedicated to serving the public of all ages and abilities.
