Richard Clute


Richard holds a Masters in Anthropology/Archaeology from Michigan State University.  Richard has served as the Curator of Anthropology at the Besser Museum since 2001.  Richard worked as an instructor in the Social Science Department at Alpena Community College from 1972 until 2001. As Faculty and Department Chair, Richard led a delegation of representatives from Northern Michigan colleges to Beijing Union University to explore department partnership programs. He also held a teaching/administrative role in a program for Native American students.


Currently, Richard spends a portion of the year at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, China where he teaches Western Culture, American History and Museum Technology.


He also continues to teach Alpena Community College summer semester course of Archaeology. Richard also has several publications and papers to his credit.
