Join us March 5 at 6pm for a A Surrealist Poetry
Reading & Discussion presented by Brian Schorn

Surrealism began as a literary movement in 1920s Paris. Its official launch was in 1924 with founder, Andre Breton’s, Manifesto of Surrealism. Through techniques such as automatic writing, and dream documentation, the Surrealists were able to explore the depths of the subconscious.

The selected poems presented in this reading will offer a glimpse into the major poets during Surrealism’s evolution from the 1910s throughout the 1960s. Additionally, a selection of contemporary poets who continue to be impacted by the strange juxtapositions of Surrealism will also be featured.
