Besser Museum
is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization.
The Besser Museum is a 501 (c)(3), non-profit, membership corporation stewarded by its own Board of Trustees. The museum receives no continuing financial support from federal, state, or local government entities or millage. Operational support is generated through admission fees, membership dues, awarded grants and donations. Besser Museum is an accrediated museum by the American Alliance of Museums.

The Power of Volunteering
Here at the Besser Museum we value our volunteers so much. We are always looking for volunteers to help lead and teach school groups, organize our array of historical photos, general cleaning to help our building look in tip-top shape, and many other areas.
Why Volunteer?
It's rewarding! The work you do here at the museum is a service to our community. You are helping to preserve the history of Alpena's past and are influencing the present at the same time.
There is no commitment. Whether you have 2 hours a week or month, we are always happy to have your presence at the museum.
