Join us April 2 at 6pm for a 2 hour art workshop on woodblock printing presented by Poppy Cornleius.
Partnering with the Besser Museum and their newest art exhibit, Poppy Cornelius will teach a block carving and printing workshop. Come learn all about Salvador Dali's prints made from hand carved wood blocks, and then come carve your own. We will be using rubber blocks, because it's much easier for beginners. This is a great way to learn some art history and get hands on with the process itself!
You will learn all the steps it takes to print
with a freshly carved rubber block.
- Transferring a design
- Carving your block (2x2 inch blocks)
- Inking your block (black ink)
- And finally, printing your design!
All supplies will be provided!
(Designs to transfer, rubber blocks,
carving tools, brayers, ink, paper)
Once prints have been printed, we will wash our blocks off and you'll keep them for yourselves! Be aware of smudging when taking your prints home with you! Full dry time is about 3 days.
Ages 15+ due to handling sharp tools.
$35 per person - (Cash, paypal, venmo, cashapp)
Please direct message Poppyseed's Collective to claim your spot & pay!

About Poppy Cornelius
Poppy is the creator behind Poppyseed's Collective. A variety of unique handmade art, including, hand carved and printed block prints, hand stitched embroidery, and even clothing. Never settling or getting bored, Poppy always keeps busy with new ways to share her art. Almost everything Poppy creates is inspired by all things nature. Whether that be creating from thread, or carving a design to create prints, nature continues to be the root of their art. Motivated to share different art forms in the community, Poppy teaches block printing workshops to those eager to learn new ways of creating. Hoping to inspire others to pick up new ways of expressing themselves.
Thank you Poppy for bringing your creativity to the Besser Museum!
